COLOR and LEARNING
Many studies suggest that color association is an effective tool in memory retention. Colored learning aids are used every day in our schools. Color-coded systems are used every day in the workplace. Color association is a commonly used technique by teachers and educators to help students engage in a subject faster or retain information quicker.
As coaches, we use many visual training aids during regular practice: cones and flags to mark boundaries and colored bibs to differentiate teams. Using color during technical training to introduce and reinforce foot skills and techniques will maximize practice time by simplifying coaching instructions and enhancing player’s memory retention.
